Welcome to Bourk’s Complete Car Care, your premier destination for steering and suspension services in Ottawa, ON. Our expert team is committed to ensuring your vehicle’s steering and suspension systems are functioning optimally for a safe and comfortable driving experience.
Your vehicle’s steering and suspension systems are pivotal in maintaining a smooth, stable, and safe drive. The suspension system includes key components such as:
Shock Absorbers: These crucial parts of your car’s suspension system work hard to soak up shocks from road bumps and potholes, ensuring your ride is smooth and comfortable.
Springs: Serving as the core of the suspension system, springs bear the weight of your car and adjust to road irregularities. They’re key to keeping you stable and secure, no matter the road condition.
Struts: Struts are an integral part of your suspension, often working alongside shock absorbers. They support your car’s weight and help keep the tires aligned, ensuring a steady and balanced ride.
The steering system, on the other hand, allows you to control the direction of your vehicle with ease. It includes components such as:
Steering Wheel: It’s your main interface with your car’s direction – the steering wheel. This essential component allows you to guide and control the direction of your vehicle with precision.
Rack and Pinion: This mechanism translates the movement of your steering wheel into the turning of your car’s wheels. It’s what makes your steering sharp, and your turns accurate.
Power Steering Pump: This component makes steering smoother and less strenuous. The pump uses hydraulic or electric power to assist you in maneuvering your vehicle. This simplifies the effort needed to steer, especially during sharp turns.
As we can see, the steering and suspension systems have a number of components that work in harmony with one another. It’s important to make sure each component is serving its function and is in good condition.
It’s essential to recognize the signs that your steering and suspension system may need attention. These can include:
If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s time to get your steering and suspension checked by professionals.
Maintaining your vehicle’s steering and suspension systems is not just about ensuring a smooth ride; it’s also about safety. Regular maintenance helps to prevent wear and tear of critical components, reducing the likelihood of unexpected and potentially dangerous failures. By ignoring the warning signs mentioned above, you are also increasing the chances of greater, more costly repairs being necessary in the future.
Well-maintained systems also contribute to the longevity of your vehicle, ensuring optimal performance and fuel efficiency. This is critical in saving money and getting the most out of your vehicle.
At Bourk’s Complete Car Care in Ottawa, ON, we offer a wide array of services to keep your steering and suspension systems in top condition. Our services include:

My husband and I just moved from Nova Scotia and we were looking for a new garage. We saw great reviews, and when my car wouldn’t start, I called CAA and had them tow us to Bourk’s. Are we ever happy we did. The staff are extremely friendly, courteous, and quick turnaround. He took the time to explain to me exactly what they had to do. Quoted the price before hand, we picked up the vehicle today. Went over the work order took the time to answer all of my questions. This is definitely our new garage. They have not forgotten what Customer Service is all about and we appreciated everything. Keep up the great work guys

I wonder if Bob and Murtle Bourk had any idea when they launched Bourk's Ignition Ltd., back in 1937, that 89 years later today’s team would still be doing the Bourk name proud.
Currently operated by third-generation family members Gary and Bill Bourk, the auto care establishment has a glowing reputation, and in recent weeks I found out why.
It was time for my 14-year-old vehicle to have a thorough check up. A trusted mechanic who had been taking care of my year-to-year maintenance referred me to Bourk's Complete Car Care. And I’m extremely grateful that he did. The advice, service and follow up I received was second to none; courteous and efficient, friendly and professional, reasonably priced and meticulous.
I’ve always felt that a reliable vehicle is essential for peace of mind. With Bourk’s in my corner, I feel confident that my car care needs have been met for today and will always be taken care of in the future, by my news friends at Bourk’s.

Bryan and Stuart provided outstanding customer service when my car developed an issue during my commute on Carling Avenue yesterday. I stopped by without an appointment, and they had my car inspected within 15 minutes of my arrival to make sure it was still safe to drive home. Their willingness to help is greatly appreciated. Amazing service!

They were super clear, great to deal with, only did the work required and didn’t try any of that shady upsell business that’s all too common.
Offered a local uber, had strong wifi, and heck they even offered me a muffin.
Can’t recommend enough.
Great place for car service, great guys at the front desk! Fast, efficient service for a fair price and always get the car back same day!

Been going to Bourk's for years, and have always had a good experience. I trust them with the care of my vehicle, and they don't disappoint. On my most recent experience, they were able to quickly resolve an exhaust noise that clearly stumped the local Honda dealership.

I have taken my cars to Bourk's Complete Car Care in Kanata several times, and I’ve always had a great experience. I really appreciate being able to book appointments online and, after the work is completed, receiving a clear list of recommended services along with transparent pricing for each one.
Stuart and Jackson are consistently friendly and efficient during check-in, which makes the process smooth and stress-free. It’s also incredibly convenient that they offer a shuttle service if you don’t have transportation. Bruce is usually the driver, and I’m always happy to see him — he’s relaxed, personable, and a great driver.
All of the service work on my vehicles has been completed by Brennan Lorint, and I’ve never had any issues with the quality of his work. I have great confidence in the team and highly recommend Bourk’s Complete Car Care for all your automotive service needs.
Really good honest and knowledgeable people, thoroughly recommend!

I had an issue with my check engine light coming on and I was about to leave for vacation. Initially, I was going to leave my car for the week so they could check it over when they had time but they managed to squeeze me in and everything was resolved quickly before I had to leave. The guys in the shop and the gentleman driving the shuttle were all wonderful and I consider their rates to be reasonable. I will continue to be a customer as I have always had a good experience and know others who recommend this shop as well! Thank you Bourk's!
